Drop

Open from eight to midnight, Drop is the perfect place for a coffee, a quick snack, or one of the fine cocktails created by bartender Andrea Guida, who joined the Bianca Relais staff in the summer of 2022. Having come to the art of mixology through his passion for the world of the night economy, Andrea has acquired many years of experience in the catering sector at venues in the Lecco area and beyond. Over time he has become increasingly involved in the world of cocktails, and in particular in mixing fresh and seasonal ingredients to create them. Through his own in-depth study and experimentation, and several specialisation courses, he has developed a personal philosophy that he now masterfully applies behind the bar at Drop.

“In recent times the technical aspects of cocktail making have become more and more sophisticated. For me, mixology is an extension of cuisine, and the experimentation carried out in the kitchen has been increasingly applied to the bar, allowing us to offer the customer a taste experience as close as possible to the flavours of the fresh ingredient”, explains the bartender. At Bianca Relais, Drop's staff have the great example of Emanuele Petrosino to follow, with the young chef of Bianca sul Lago already having been awarded a Michelin Star, and the menu of Drop's bistro also bears his signature. The aim is to provide cosmopolitan and local clientele with an unforgettable experience that derives from a diverse service ensemble, including second-to-none guest reception, sophisticated cuisine and a cocktail menu on a par with those of the great international luxury hotels.

Andrea began his journey at Drop by consolidating the great classics with the application of modern techniques while introducing some signature cocktails based on fresh seasonal ingredients, taking care to avoid waste and to ensure sustainability. “I have also included work that I have personally devoted myself to in recent years. Ours is a menu to satisfy all tastes, while in the future we would like to focus on local customers and spread awareness of the excellence of this place in our own area”, says Andrea.

To shine a light on the Lecco and Lombardy area as much as possible, the menu features exclusively local craft beers and many wines from the surrounding valleys. As far as spirits and liqueurs are concerned, there is also an emphasis on local products, flanked by top-quality Italian and international names.

For Andrea Guida, it is a privilege to be able to work in an environment like that of Bianca Relais, where imagination, innovation and creativity are not only appreciated but also encouraged. It is the dream for the future of Drop to one day associate the restaurant's menu with special drinks created to reflect the flavours and aromas of the refined dishes created by Chef Petrosino.
