The Villa del Grumello, overlooking the lakefront a few steps from the center of Como, with its historical naturalistic park envelops the city and the first basin of the lake with a unique view.
Grumello is the heart of the project called "Chilomentro della Conoscenza” (Kilometer of Knowledge) - both an urban park of great naturalistic and landscape value and a network between entities active in the cultural field, which animate Villa Olmo (municipal property), Villa del Grumello (headquarters of the association of the same name, of Sviluppo Como – ComoNExT and of the A. Volta Foundation) and Villa Sucota (headquarters of the Antonio Ratti Foundation).
A romantic walk among centuries-old trees, botanical gardens and seasonal - the colors of the rare hydrangeas are particularly enchanting - which act as a counterpoint to breathtaking panoramas and delicate atmospheres: slowly crossing the beauty of this urban park is at the same time a regenerating experience and a training ground for the senses.
The Villa del Grumello is a meeting place between culture and education, between sociality and creativity; it encourages synergies, disciplinary contaminations, experiments. The Villa and the Serra are also an ideal place for workshops, small conferences, corporate meetings, and exclusive receptions. Its marginal posture is a source of inspiration for the cultural and educational activities and for the artistic events that unfold from March to November in the broad seasonal schedule created by the Association, including participatory art, botany, well-being, music, dance, theatre, and cinema. Events that are intertwined with the essence of the place, with its elegant historical artefacts and buildings, and with its disheveled nature.
While walking, city and nature come together along the paths of the park: during the day the small refreshment point, the books in consultation, the panoramic benches, a creative workshop, and a practice in the vegetable garden for children of all ages. While at night, the Grumello comes alive with films, between the Villa and the large cedar, the jazz festival at the Serra, and dance sessions in the woods. Yoga at dawn and music all night long... to connect to your inner self and others.
