Where to Sleep

Al Molo 5

On the western shore of Lake Lecco, along the road from Bellagio to the city, lies the small municipality of Oliveto Lario, formed by the union of three villages: Onno, Vassena, and Limonta. It is said that the name derives from the woods planted by Greek settlers who were deported to these areas under the rule of the Roman Empire. Still today, a village of olive growers and fishermen, Oliveto Lario maintains its ancient charm, thanks to its narrow alleys and small harbor. It is precisely this timeless setting that provides the backdrop for Al Molo 5, a small boutique hotel in the historic village of Vassena, comprising five lakefront rooms, two suites with dual water views, and two apartments, one of which features a garden.

Three separate buildings, recently renovated yet perfectly integrated into the architectural context of the village, characterized by romantic stone houses and sloping roofs. All renovation works have preserved the typical features of the area and that authentic Italian taste. The furnishings are inspired by old village houses, with wooden furniture and ancient local artifacts brought back to life: wooden oars, fishing nets, and vintage photographs. All accompanied by 17th-century Lombard stone fireplaces, cement tile floors, and exposed beams.

While maintaining a romantic retro character, rooms and apartments are equipped with all modern comforts and amenities: TV, refrigerator, king-size beds, safe, nearby parking, and everything needed to enjoy a relaxing moment, such as coffee, herbal teas, always fresh water, and a complimentary beach bag. The property itself features a lake and mountain-facing sun terrace, a small gym, and a relaxation area with sauna and jacuzzi. For those looking to spend a sunny day exploring the lake and its most breathtaking spots – such as the villages of Bellagio, Varenna, or Bellano, with its famous “Orrido” – Al Molo 5 offers elegant boat tours in limousines or Venetian taxis, while the more adventurous can indulge in kayaking and paddleboarding, or decide to admire the splendor of Lake Lecco from the panoramic road with electric bikes provided free by the hotel.

For any additional needs, the hotel's multilingual staff, fluent in up to five languages, is readily available to assist. They maintain direct connections with all the area's attractions and tourist services, ensuring guests have access to the best experiences. Finally, Al Molo 5 offers a delightful culinary journey. The eponymous bar and restaurant are ideal settings for sunset aperitifs or romantic lakeside dinners, boasting a meticulously crafted menu inspired by local traditions.
