Osteria Figli dei Fiori

The Osteria began two years after the establishment of the Bistrot Figli dei Fiori, arising from the need to offer the increasingly international clientele arriving at Lake Como a location where they could enjoy dishes influenced by Italian gastronomy and local products.

The core idea was based on Italy’s almost sacred institution of Sunday lunch at grandma's house. All dishes are created for two and served in the middle of the table to be shared by the diners, just as if they were at home with friends and relatives. At the Osteria there are cold meats, cheeses, aubergine parmigiana, lasagna, gnocchetti and spit-roasted meat, cooked slowly on an infrared rotisserie.

Osteria Figli dei Fiori is also a wine shop that stocks around 300 labels from all over Italy, allowing guests to choose from Barolo, Brunello, Sforzato di Valtellina, Amarone della Valpolicella, bubbly from Franciacorta, Trento, alta langa and Champagne. One of the restaurant's iconic dishes is pollastra allo spiedo (spit-roasted chicken), which is served whole, at 1.5 kg, on a plate of baked potatoes. This is just right for sharing, as in a typical Italian family meal.
