On the shores of Lake Como, in the picturesque town of Torno, there is the Il Belvedere hotel and restaurant, managed since 2018 by the brothers Ali, Osman, Murat and Volkan. Through a major renovation of the interiors and the building, the new property wanted to respect its identity and preserve its old charm. The colors and materials of the walls and furnishings chosen for the rooms and for the evocative external vent give continuity to the historic little square on the lake shore, with the famous exposed Moltrasio stone, the wood, and the shades of green and blue of the landscape that acts as a natural frame.

Since its opening, Il Belvedere has offered local cuisine curated by Chef Francesco Cranchi. On the menu are traditional Italian and regional dishes based on local raw materials - the “risotto in cagnone” with perch fillets and the lake fried fish are worth trying - which enhance the commitment and passion of many producers and farmers from the province of Como and the surrounding areas, like the historic fishermen of Lario or the shepherds of Valtellina with their high-quality meats.
Although the most famous dishes can be found on the menu all year long, the Il Belvedere restaurant usually updates its gastronomic offer every two months, to allow its guests to enjoy new and innovative flavors alongside traditional ones. The wine pairing is handled by Osman, an expert sommelier, who knows how to respond to the needs of every palate thanks to a cellar equipped with high-level labels. The local wines are accompanied by many excellent wines from all over Italy and some inevitable incursions from foreign countries best known and appreciated for their winemaking tradition.

The experience is completed by an exceptional view of the mountains and villages of the western shore of Lake Como, such as Moltrasio, Carate Urio and Laglio. A landscape of rare beauty which over the years has demonstrated its allure by attracting many international tourists who wish to have a taste of the world-famous "Dolce Vita", which finds its maximum expression on the romantic banks of the Lario. In this elegant and fairy-tale context, Il Belvedere is the perfect setting for quiet evenings wrapped in the evocative stillness of the night and punctuated by the rhythmic rippling of the water.
