Da Pietro

In the heart of Como, beneath the imposing late-Gothic cathedral, Ristorante Da Pietro stands out as a true institution. Founded by the Porrini family, it began in 1955 as an evolution of Bar Bottegone, opened in 1948 by grandfather Pietro. A pioneer in the city, it was the first to offer hot meals late into the night, eventually becoming a landmark in the Como dining scene. Since 2014, Pietro, grandson of the founder, has renewed the space, blending modernity and tradition to offer a memorable experience.

At the helm of the kitchen is Diego Aragona, a young and talented chef who leads a close-knit brigade that transforms seasonal, high-quality ingredients into dishes that combine local roots with innovative techniques. Each menu item strikes a balance between familiarity and surprise—from the classic cotoletta alla milanese to a reimagined tiramisù. Elegant touches include the award-winning “Conte del Lario” cocktail, which took first prize at the inaugural Como Lake Cocktail Week.

The warm yet refined setting, within an architecturally stunning building, invites guests to relax and enjoy dishes that express the culinary culture of Como while meeting the expectations of the most discerning palates.

What are the three pillars of success, according to Pietro, third-generation restaurateur of the Porrini family? A historic location facing Como’s Piazza Duomo; high-quality cuisine that balances tradition and innovation; and professional, attentive service provided by a young and passionate team.
